This oil painting series is an exploration of the intensity and magic that I have experienced in my life. I chose movement of line and deep, rich color to express the boundless enthusiasm I feel through creating, painting. This time in my life has been marked by realizations and doors standing boldy open, beckoning. And I am finally walking through them unafraid. This passion can be interpreted many ways: as an object, a devotion, a desire and a way of life. The titles of the pieces are incorporated into each one. They are quotes from my journals. I love to add this element to my work as I feel it incorporates slices of my real life into the fabric of each piece. It adds the origin, the inspiration point to each painting. Here is a quote from the night that I first began painting this series: "...have begun the passion ponies and i love them. the first is called from this to that, it is large, two horses leaping through the air, boldly and wildly and beautifully. finding things inside me like lost songs i have loved. this is a gift to myself for goodness and truth and light - and the journey carries on and transforms me through sound and sight-i love this life" return to 25 candles lighting my way
